NEW YORK YANKEES ARE HAVING A HISTORIC SEASON

As I predicted before the season started (sorry I had to say it), the New York Yankees are winning the AL East. The Bronx Bombers are actually running away with the division and have the best record in the Major Leagues.

The New York Yankees are actually having a historic campaign, the team had a 62-20 record on this day in 1998 (114-48 final record). In 1927, the Bronx Bombers had a 56-23 record (110-44-1 final record).

In 1939, the New York Yankees had a 53-22 record on July 9, and finished the season with a 106-45-1 record. The 1961 New York Yankees had a 53-29 récord on July 8, and finished the season with a 109-53-1 record. The New York Yankees currently have a 61-23 record.

The New York Yankees are currently playing almost as good as the record-setting 1998 team, better than the all-time great 1927 team, better than the all-time great 1939 team and better than the great 1961 team. This is a historic season indeed.
