TEAM: New York Yankees

CLOSER: Aroldis Chapman

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He’s arguably the best closer in the game. Barring injury he’s safe in his role.

TEAM: Boston Red Sox

CLOSER: Brandon Workman

STATUS: Orange

DETAILS: If not for his xFIP and Matt Barnes and Nathan Eovaldi being better and just having bad luck, I would have put green.

TEAM: Tampa Bay Rays

CLOSER: Emilio Pagan

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He seems to be running away with the job.

TEAM: Toronto Blue Jays

CLOSER: Ken Giles

STATUS: Orange

DETAILS: Well Giles is easily the closer when healthy, but he’s injured and might miss significant time. He is also a lock to be traded in the offseason. Derek Law might get significant time filling in as their closer this season.

TEAM: Baltimore Orioles

CLOSER: Mychal Givens

STATUS: Orange

DETAILS: He’s not good this season and they replaced him once before, the problem is their bullpen is really weak and he’s still the best overall reliever that they have.

AL CENTRAL

TEAM: Cleveland Indians

CLOSER: Brad Hand

STATUS: Green

DETAILS A very good closer who had the job locked down.

TEAM: Minnesota Twins

CLOSER: Taylor Rogers

STATUS: Orange

DETAILS: He hasn’t been sharp lately, but they don’t have any better options unless they actually go with Sergio Romo.

TEAM: Chicago White Sox

CLOSER: Alex Colome

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He’s been very good despite shaky peripherals and they seem committed to him in the role.

TEAM: Kansas City Royals

CLOSER: Ian Kennedy

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He’s set in that role at this point.

TEAM: Detroit Tigers

CLOSER: Joe Jimenez

STATUS: Red

DETAILS: He’s not very good and has no experience as a closer, Buck Farmer is better and might get the job at some point.

AL WEST

TEAM: Houston Astros

CLOSER: Roberto Osuna

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: An elite closer.

TEAM: Oakland Athletics

CLOSER: Liam Hendricks

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He’s running away with the job at this point.

TEAM: Los Angeles Angels

CLOSER: Hansel Robles

STATUS: Green

DETAILS: He seems to be set in the role at this point.

DETAILS: He has to completely fall apart to lose his job.

DETAILS: He’s set at this point.
