QUICK OFFSEASON NOTES

The New York Yankees acquired SP James Paxton from Seattle for a weak (in my opinion return). Despite his health and 2 years of control, James Paxton is an ace and is worth more than Justus Sheffield, who has bust written all over him and 2 non-top prospects.

Atlanta signed C Brian McCann to return to the team. This all but eliminates them from pursuing J.T. Realmuto, though an in-division trade never seemed likely. I think is a good move as he will split time with Tyler Flowers at the position. It’s a 1 year/$2 million deal and should work out great for Atlanta.

In another great 1 year deal, Atlanta signed 3B Josh Donaldson for 1 year/$23 million. This is a great low risk/high reward deal and doesn’t block top third base prospect Austin Riley. The Atlanta Braves are currently the favorites to win the NL East again next year.
